7.13 Fax Handling

• Print incoming faxes automatically  - when a fax is filtered to your account, you can choose to have this fax printed automatically. This is set on an account to account basis due to priorities. For instance, you might have an account setup to filter the most important faxes, with the highest priority. Of course you may only require these faxes to be printed automatically.

  Another example would be where you use STFax as the fax server within a small company, using networked printers for each officer user. A fax is sent to 'Mike Smith', filtered into the 'Mike' folder and then printed to the printer nearest to Mike, across the network.

  STFax will use the current 'default' printer as set within your printer preferences. With AmigaOS 3.5+ you can select the printer you wish to use with the Unit gadget.

• Automatically forward incoming faxes  - you can automatically forward a received fax to a remote fax machine. For instance, Mike Smith is out of the office for a few days he could choose one of two methods:
  1. Turn off fax forwarding for his account and setup a fax filter to forward only specific faxes (based on keywords, caller id or remote id) to a remote fax machine. This is a better option if Mike wants to only filter very important fax documents, ie. documents from specific contacts.

  2. Turn on fax forwarding and forward all received faxes, to his account, to the remote fax machine. This is useful when the user will be out of the office for some days and wishes that all received faxes, important or not (or filtered or not), be automatically forwarded.
